[LBC] Prepare a coord based on a movie

by - 11:31

This week's prompt at Lolita Blog Carnival was so funny! We were supposed to prepare a coord based on a movie or series and, for this one, I chose Audrey Hepburn's "Breakfast at Tiffany's" iconic look!

I may confess that I, myself, have never watched this movie. Its name in Portuguese is kinda cringy (Luxurious Doll), so I always avoided it thinking it would actually be some kind of porn or anything like that.

It was only last year that I, through Big Little Lies, discovered that it was nothing of the sort, haha!

With that said, this is an iconic look often seen on Japanese and Chinese fashion magazines through the ages (actually, it's kinda interesting to notice how many dresses are released every year inspired by many of Audrey's characters lol), and I've decided to use it as a reference when creating my own!

Of course, I don't smoke nor support it. So here I am, holding an eyeliner, hehe.

So, as expected, I did some adaptations (after all, it should fit the Lolita Fashion aesthetics). I dropped that tiara and used a velvet lace with a Bodyline brooch over my hair.

For the tights,  my options were either a solid black one or this lacy pair that I ended up using. Most of my black x white tights are printed with religious motifs, and I felt as if they wouldn't match the concept of this coord. Other than these, I mainly have black x navy stocking pieces lol

For the hair, I've tried watching a bunch of Youtube Tutorials that were specifically about Audrey's hair. This one here (link) was my favourite one, but, of course, my hair is far from being this straight, so I ended up doing my own version of it.

...let's not talk about my make-up, aye?

And, yeah.... I lost one of my black gloves, so I had to use a red one instead and then edit it on Photoshop, HAHA! SO DAMN HARD.

So, now, here are the photos I took for this challenge!

And that's it! Thanks for reading and I hope you've enjoyed it <3

  1. Ficou tão lindo esse outfit...E é bem interessante que dá pra reconhecer a referência logo de cara, mesmo com a silhueta bem diferente.
